Have difficulty keeping their emotions balanced when faced with frustration?
Join us as Dr. Kristin Lopez explains what emotional regulation is, how it works, and what may cause someone to have difficulty regulating their emotions. She will describe the social, emotional, and academic impact that emotional regulation difficulties have through childhood as well as the significant impact shown later in adulthood.
This presentation will discuss how emotional regulation skill deficits present within various diagnoses and classifications as well as students across the general education population. She will inform listeners how and when to seek help for a student with emotional regulation difficulties and what types of strategies or treatment are best to address these deficits.
