PCA AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES

WINTER SESSION 2020

The Winter 2020 Session of the PCA After School Enrichment Classes are getting ready to begin. Please check out the process and what’s on offer this session below!

Sign-Up Process

TO REGISTER: Visit the google link on the PCA Website on 9pm on Thursday December 12, 2019 and links to individual class signups will be available. Registration ends on Tuesday December 17, 2019:

PAYMENT: Payment must be made by credit card online when you register.
WAITLIST: Spots are given first come-first serve when you complete online registration and payment. If the class you are interested in is full, please email scpcaenrichment@gmail.com to be placed on a wait list. In your email, indicate your child’s name, grade, teacher and the class you are interested in. We will contact you if a spot becomes available. This is the ONLY way to be added to a waitlist!
SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of need-based scholarships are available; please contact Ms. Wojcik for more information prior to registration.
REFUND POLICY: We cannot issue refunds once registration and payment has been completed.
ONCE YOU HAVE REGISTERED: If you have not already done so this year, sign and return the Waiver and Release and Acknowledgment of Student Behavior Policy (attached) and place it in the class folder for your class in the main office (this only needs to be done 1x per year).
AIDES INCLUDED: No parent supervisor required for classes.

Session II, Classes, Winter 2020

STORY YOGA– Grades K – 2 (15 kids max) Along with the fun story, we act out using yoga poses. The stories take you to jungle adventures, a mission to the moon and ocean dive! Through the characters in the story, we explore common issues kids in this age may experience such as bullying, managing frustration and friendship. The class includes warm-up, yoga story, relaxation, and activity or meditation. 45 min.

SOAP 101! Grades 1-5 (15 kids max) Did you know that your skin is your body’s largest organ? It’s important to learn how to take care of your skin. In this class with a professional soap-maker, you will make soaps, lip balms, sugar scrubs, lotion bars and fizzing bath salts that you can take home to use. You are sure to love this homemade class!

Instructor: Angela Carillo, recently retired North Shore School employee and owner of Alegna Soap.

CLAYNATION– Grades 1 – 3 (15 kids max) Local favorite art studio Claynation will be at Sea Cliff School this Fall for this crafty afterschool program. Students will learn about the different media and create lots of fun projects including ceramics, mosaics, canvas paintings and more. Don’t miss the fun & creativity.

KARATE– Grades 1 – 5 (15 kids max) Martial Arts & Life Skills classes will be 45 minutes. Each session will begin with a 15 minute dynamic warm-up followed by stretching, basic martial arts, and self-defense moves designed the enhance kids’ self-confidence.

KERBOOMKIDZ!– Grades K-2 (20 kids max) *minimum of 15 kids to run class!! Have your kids moving & grooving with KerboomKidz; A highly energetic & extremely engaging dance fitness program that promotes kids being active & staying healthy! Each class will begin with KerboomKidz’s signature energetic warm-up followed by learning a step by step dance routine. What is so great is that the kids will learn an actual routine while working out & having fun without even realizing it! We end the class with a Dance Battle where the kids will showcase the routine they just learned along with a freestyle portion to show off their best dance moves! Overall, a healthy competition that encourages team-building skills & confidence!

DRAW- IT– Grades 3-5 (12 kids max) . Does your young artist draw all the time? Do they constantly watch u-tube videos on how to draw…anything? Well this afterschool will be focused on fine-tuning their drawing skills. We will work with organic and geometric shapes and learn how to bring their flat drawings into the third dimension. The human body, buildings, plants, scenes, and many more subjects will be drawn in this course. All levels are welcome. It will be FUN.

CRAFTED– Grades 1-5 (15 kids max) Looking for a creative and crafty after school program? Crafted is for all skill and experience levels with hands on help and instruction for each project. Some examples of projects our students have done in previous classes include: weaving their own wall hanging, making dream catchers, embossing bookmarks and wall art, making their own colored pencils and more!

SLIME TIME! Grades 2-5 (15 kids max) Slime Time: Can’t get enough slime? This is the class for you. Each week make a new style slime- Color changing Slime, Snowy Winter Slime, Glow-in-the-dark Slime & more! Fun mix-ins & funky glues make this a can’t miss class. Dress for a mess! Slime or colorants may stain.

Waiver and Release: As a parent or legal guardian of the above-named child in the Sea Cliff Parent Association After School Enrichment Program, on behalf of that child, I forever release and hold harmless the Sea Cliff Parent Association and its successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which may arise or may hereafter arise as a result of my child’s participation in any class or classes offered by the Sea Cliff Parent Association After School Enrichment Program for the entire academic year 2018-2019. I understand and acknowledge that this discharges the Sea Cliff Parent Association, a nonprofit organization existing under the laws of the State of New York, and the Sea Cliff Parent Association After School Enrichment Program, with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, or death, or property damage that may result from my child’s participation in the program. Further, I understand and acknowledge that there is no guarantee that participation in this program is free of risk of personal injury or property damage or loss. Student Behavior Policy: Expectations for appropriate student behavior are consistent with the Sea Cliff Student Handbook. The After School Program will follow these guidelines to ensure appropriate behavior:

All students must follow the directions of the after school class teachers and assistants.
If a student displays inappropriate behavior, teachers will address the issue directly with the student. If the behavior continues, the student will sit out the rest of the class, and parent/guardian will be notified.
If the inappropriate behavior continues at the next class, the student will sit out the class and be suspended from attending the remaining classes. A phone call will be made to the parent(s) /guardian(s). Please note that any student involved in a physical altercation of any kind will be removed from the class.
The total course fee is non-refundable for anyone who is dismissed or suspended from the After School Program.
