PCA AFTER-SCHOOL
ENRICHMENT CLASSES
SPRING SESSION 2021

NOTE: There will be ONE virtual offering this session. ALL other offerings are in-person activities held outside.

Sign-Up Process
TO REGISTER: Opens at 9pm on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, and links to individual class signups will be available. Registration ends at 12pm on Friday, April 9th, 2021.

PAYMENT: Payment must be made by credit card online when you register.
WAITLIST: Spots are given first come-first serve when you complete online registration and payment. If the class you are interested in is full, please email scpcaenrichment@gmail.com to be placed on a wait list. In your email, indicate your child’s name, grade, teacher and the class you are interested in. We will contact you if a spot becomes available. This is the ONLY way to be added to a waitlist!

SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of need-based scholarships are available; please contact Ms. Wojcik for more information prior to registration.
REFUND POLICY: We cannot issue refunds once registration and payment has been completed.
ONLINE WAIVER: If you have not already done so this year, digitally sign and complete the Waiver and Release and Acknowledgment of Student Behavior Policy (this only needs to be done 1x per year). The link to the waiver will be provided when you receive class info after sign-up.

VIRTUAL CLASS OFFERING: 
Virtual Chess Nuts (grades 2-5, max. 16 students)
-Description: Don’t miss out on the chance to learn and improve your chess skills, followed by coached playing time! In addition to the lesson and coaching, this one hour weekly program features the opportunity for students to play unlimited chess games against other students anytime during the 8-week session!

-Class meets on TUESDAYS (8 weeks): 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8

IN-PERSON CLASS OFFERINGS:

Field Hockey (*grades K-2, max. 10 students, *must bring own field hockey stick)
-Description: Learn the fundamentals of field hockey! Working with the successful youth club team, Lasting Legacy, students will learn beginner skills for this exciting sport! Passing, stick handling, drills, small game play and teamwork are just some of the skills kids will learn during this fun program.
-Instructor: head coach from Lasting Legacy Club Team and Assistant Coach from North Shore High School team
-Class meets on MONDAYS (5 weeks): 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24
-Time: 2:45pm-3:45pm
-Location: Field across from school (K-2 and 3-5 will be in separate groups)
-Cost: $145 for 5 sessions

My Style Camp: Fashion DIY and Repurposing (grades 1-5, max. 10 students)
-Description: My Style Camp is a program that encourages kids to discover their own creativity through fashion and costume design. In this fashion-focused program, children will create and embellish designs with school spirit in mind! Each class will focus on a different fashion project with a nod to our Vikings Spirit! Past projects included making headbands, masks and tote bags. As a special school spirit project, one class will also focus on creating a special school spirit image that the PCA will include as one of the new styles for our school merchandise!

Cartooning (grades 3-5, max. 10 students)
-Description: Sea Cliff’s own local artists Patricia Weiss and Courtney Schweiger will teach the basics of cartooning! Students will focus on creating a simple story line using speech bubbles, while working within cartoon boxes. Students will have fun learning to create different expressions in the faces and movements of their characters. Come and

Science Museum of Long Island (grades 1-5, max. 10 students)
-Description: The Science Museum of Long Island programs offer students an interactive way to fuel their curiosity. Through demonstrations, experiments and crafts, they will explore a wide range of science topics. Each week will focus on a different topic that will include hands on elements using simple supplies.

ClayNation– (grades 1-5, max. 10 kids students)
-Description: Join local favorite art studio Claynation for this crafty after school program. Students will create lots of fun projects including ceramics, mosaics, and canvas paintings. Don’t miss the fun & creativity!

Breath in Motion (grades 3-5, max. 10 students)
-Description: Breath and Meditation Class: 50-min of mindful breathing and dynamic movement. In this class, we’ll connect to our mind and bodies through breath and elements of rhythm.
