In order to sign up for an after school program, you will need to indicate that you read and accept the following terms:
Registration: Spaces in each class are allocated on by registering and paying online (including providing a supervision date).
Student Behavior: Expectations for appropriate student behavior are consistent with the Sea Cliff Student Handbook. The After School Program will follow these guidelines to ensure appropriate behavior:
- All students must follow the directions of the after school class teachers and assistants.
- If a student displays inappropriate behavior, teachers will address the issue directly with the student. If the behavior continues, the student will sit out the rest of the class, and parent/guardian will be notified.
- If the inappropriate behavior continues at the next class, the student will sit out the class and be suspended from attending the remaining classes. A phone call will be made to the parent(s) /guardian(s). Please note that any student involved in a physical altercation of any kind will be removed from the class.
- The total course fee is non-refundable for anyone who is dismissed or suspended from the After School Program.
Refunds: Given the brief duration of the programs and the fact that decisions about whether the class will run are dependent upon the number of students who enroll, we will be unable to refund registration fees once payment is made. If, however, a student can find another student to take his/her place, we will be happy to accommodate the new student.
Parent Volunteers: In some classes, we depend on parent volunteers to assist the teachers. Therefore, as part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide a session on which you can volunteer.
- We will make every effort to accommodate your requested session date, but there is no guarantee that you will be asked to volunteer on the specific session date that you requested.
- After registration, you will be notified of the session date that you have been assigned to volunteer. If the date does not work for you, you will be responsible for communicating with the other parents in the class to determine if someone can take your spot or switch dates, etc.
- Please note that you are free to substitute yourself with another responsible adult after you have registered (for example, another parent in the class, a friend, a babysitter, a grandparent, etc.)
- If we are short on volunteers, we will contact all registrants to see if anyone would be willing to volunteer for more than one class. In the event that we do not have enough parent volunteers to help out in a class, we may need to cancel the class.
- If a parent is assigned a date and has a last minute emergency, it is their responsibility to find a replacement from the class list. If no one volunteers to cover the date for them, class will be cancelled and no refunds will be issued.
- If a parent does not let us know beforehand that they have a conflict/emergency, and simply does not show up for their assigned supervision date, their child will not be allowed to sign up for any classes in the next session.
Miscellaneous:
- Food should not be consumed or opened during the program. Snacks will be permitted in the auditorium before class but all snacks MUST BE NUT FREE AND DAIRY FREE.
- Under no circumstance should the children, the parents or the instructors in an enrichment program enter a classroom until the previous class has been dismissed. In the event that a class is running late, parent supervisors, and students must wait in the hallway until the previous class is dismissed.
