Wednesday is a spirit wear pop-up sale.  Working on order forms for PJ pants and sweatpants
Thank you 5 grade graduation committee for the circus.
Thank you Heather Cullen and Nina Livingston for the book fair.  The book fair provides money for our school to host visiting authors.
Family photo day is coming up 11/12
Volunteers are needed for events such as Family Game night 1/20 and Jamboree 2/3.  Events dates are on calendar on PCA website- seacliffpca.net or under the Sea Cliff School website.

  • Start student meetings with deep breathing(mindfulness)  -correlates well with Ms. Krupin’s brain studies

Spirit Week 11/14-11/18- food drive, theme days, Wednesday the 16 will be photo retake day so there will not be a dress theme that day

Parent /Teacher Conference sign up approaching.  12/9 & 12/16

Playground rubber replacement should begin in a couple of weeks.  Recess will be on the blacktop and front field.

Put monitor protocol in place for lunch/recess incidents.  Log will be handed into office every day.
Curt Hinson “Dr. Recess” will give “an assembly of positive play” for students.
Replacing roof this summer so blacktop will be closed again this summer.  This includes ventilation upgrades.  The boilers will also be replaced.  Summer school will be held at another location.

LAC
The Legislative Action Committee of North Shore Schools has joined forces with the Legislative Action Committees of Garden City and Manhasset School Districts.  “Super LAC” (the informal name the group has coined) has been meeting regularly since February, 2015
 
  • PILOTS
    LAC has been advocating jointly with other districts to gain relief from the financial consequences of the shift of taxes on 600+ LIPA properties from the Nassau County tax rolls to PILOTs.
  • APPR
  • Regents Vote on Teacher Evaluations and Testing (LEARN MORE)
  • Common Core Task Force Final Report (LEARN MORE)
  • Common Core Task Force and NYSED surveys (closed) (LEARN MORE) 
    Both the Governor and the NYS Education Department requested public input in the form of surveys regarding the Common Core Learning Standards that were closed effective November 30, 2015.
  • TAX CAP
LAC continues to advocate jointly with other districts in recommending modifications to the tax levy formula that would eliminate some of the unintended consequences of the current formula.

Take a dip in the Cubist pool!  Re-connect with the creative process and, visual decision making you loved as a child as we create a still life painting in the style of the Cubist Masters.  Learn to understand and utilize the elements of art during a painting experience that mirrors the lessons currently being taught to our Seventh Grade. Hope to see you there!
 
Learn from North Shore Art teachers 
in a fun event and take home a piece of art! 
$30 per person, includes supplies and snacks. Space is limited and reservations are required!
