  • Dr Melnick would like 2 reps per building. It entails aprox 4 meetings through the year with additional meetings closer to the event

March is National Nutrition Month Focusing on Sugar education

Principals Report

  • Mr. Zublionis:
    All teachers and 5th graders have IPADs for professional development and itunes youth courses.
    Teachers are developing interdisciplinary projects
    Sea Cliff Seven Values are posted on the SC website and incorporated into projects and lessons
    Coat Drive: The goal is to collect 350 coats for 350 students
    Starting in Feb Mr Z will host a book club every other Tuesday “Last Child in the Woods”
    Outdoor classroom: Everything is recycled and recovered.
    Looking for slates for blackboards Students will design the classroom
    Planning another build a better world day in the Spring
    And indoor BABWD will take place in the winter

Ms. Ruthowski gave a detailed presentation on the Teachers College Elementary School Program It is a fluid curriculum built on best practices. The teachers are trained to engage students in authentic opportunities to learn reading and writing.
