Legislative Action Committee- Deb McDermott
Coalition with Manhasset and Garden City schools
LIPA PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) program affects 600 properties 24 in our school district- losing tax revenue
Will try and combat with legislative action and a working committee with proposals and community help
Issue of the 2% tax cap -A change in the formula is needed
Inflation has been low and the Consumer Price Index will allow for no increase in the school budget
Because increases are needed for Pensions and other payments the budget will need to be cut
Press releases by Governor Cuomo state changes at the Federal level in common-core, testing and teacher evaluation
Principal Zubliones states that our school has not yet had to implement teacher ratings by test scores
